Easy Homemade Cranberry Sauce Recipe
We have many homemade recipes for gatherings during the holiday season, and this cranberry sauce has become a cherished tradition in our family. The recipe is both easy and delicious, making it perfect for any festive meal. The process is simple—bring to a boil, mashing the ingredients while the cranberries burst and the cranberry sauce thickens into a rich, flavorful dish everyone will love.
The First Steps in Making Homemade Cranberry Sauce
First, you want to find nice cranberries. Ocean Spray has always been on the better side of the offerings at the grocery, but there may be local brands where you live that are even better. Whatever you purchase, washing the cranberries is an essential step, in addition to removing the bad or discolored cranberries.

Put the cranberries into a pot with the water and sugar.

As it’s coming to a boil, you’ll start to hear the cranberries start to pop! It’s lovely, and we always gather around to smell the incredible yumminess! Start to mash and stir as it boils to create your cranberry sauce.

Once it’s a bit thick, reduce the heat and then add the other three ingredients to complete the cranberry sauce. While the cranberry sauce is simmering, you could be working on your stuffing, such as our homemade cornbread stuffing!

Let it simmer for about 8 minutes. Put it into a nice bowl and chill, or serve it hot. Your cranberry sauce is ready to enjoy.
