I've been so up and down on my colors with this one. My fabric is due tomorrow, but a little late for what I had in mind. I came up with some foundation blocks for the finishing construction that allowed me to use more color. Here's the quilt top instructions, with two additional blocks for fun - a maple leaf and a bat. 

Instructions (I can't figure out why my first page wouldn't take some of second, so the first page is a big ole' title. I gave up there {blue}:idontknow:  

I'll be posting some more pictures of my top, I'm further along but playing with border colors. I'm having fun sewing even though the challenge seems to be quiet :) Anyone else?

Some tips! Set your stitch length to 1.8mm, this helps when removing the paper. Also back stitch at the points. The small blocks require you to stop in the middle of the paper, so be careful not to stitch into the adjoining block. 
I can't wait to see runners... over the next week we'll finish... I'll be adding some embellishment to my house. I'm going to try to post some embroidery help this coming weekend.

Notes: There will be one extra block sometime next week. You can choose as many pumpkin blocks as you want to make. If you only want a center surprise block and two pumpkins on the end - totally ok!

Posting a picture of your finished runner is required to be considered for one of the two prizes. There are several people contacted me to join, so I'm hoping everyone at least says hello! Posting pictures in between is not required, but the finished runner picture is required. This challenge ends on Sept 1st.

Friday we will post the pumpkin templates, with a hello video - Lord willing on the video. Make sure you watch the Pumpkin Paper Piecing Video below on the pumpkin ahead of time.

We will also have some extra supplies that you may need if you choose one of the two surprise blocks that require embellishments. We will hopefully have those extras up this weekend (it's not a lot, and will depend on how you want to embellish.)

More details - the pattern will have a surprise block - we'll give the option of two different blocks. The layout may have a different look - but the pumpkins will look the same. It's up to you what colors to try out on them.
